WIP Wednesday

I brewed my half a pot of coffee, pulled out a big mug, took my favorite pain med, put on my favorite shirt...

... and started at hand sewing the binding back on the last of the graduation gift quilts. I know a few bloggers who find this part of the quilt making to be very relaxing but...not me!

Today is my Mom's Birthday. Happy Birthday Mom. I do believe that she is celebrating her 57th anniversary of her 29th birthday :) It just amazes me how she stays 29 when it has been a spell since I celebrated my 29th birthday and I'm the youngest of the 6 kids :) This is one of my favorite pictures of my parents. It was taken in Florida about 1994 or 1995, a few years prior to my Dad's passing in 1997. DS digitized it for me, so that I could share it here.

I love to hand sew the bindings of my quilts. It's my favorite part. It tells me I am done, done with something and I can start something new (if I haven't already lol)
Love all your containers you have been posting...

I don't mind hand sewing either. Are those hair clips I see on your quilt? What's up with that? btw...nice quilt too!!

Happy birthday Mom!

I am one of those bloggers who love hand sewing the binding down. I love any kind of handwork except hand quilting. For some reason I can't quite get in it.

Wonderful photo of your parents. Hope that your Mom had a fabulous day. Wish I lived closer. I don't mind sewing down binding. I sew while my husband watches TV. I'm terribly slow at it. That's the only time I don't like sewing binding - when I feel the pressure of a deadline.

Have a great day!
