WIP Wednesdy

First order of business: The April 1st view out the back window. The snow has melted and while the temperature is reading 45 F, it seems colder with the wind. Spring has the frogs croaking...the windows are still closed so I don't hear nature.

I decided to join in the Mystery Quilt at Quilt Club, Ben Franklin.

The first month (February of 2009), I was suppose to choose a multi-colored fabric and two colorways from the fabric. I choose this garden novelty fabric and purple/green.

At Quilt Club in March, the comments were something on the line that the green was nice but ORANGE would be so much better.

This is what I found the second time through the closet.

In March 2009, we were suppose to cut strips then sew the like color family together.

Orange.

Purple. I finished sewing the strips together on Monday.

I had appointments this morning, so last night DD and I went to the Ben Franklin for the April directions.

I've made a couple sets of blocks. Sorry for the fuzzy picture but with the flash on, the colors really fade away. I thought I might be short blocks last night but after making these...I think I will have enough for a lapsize quilt instead of a wall hanging for the kitchen.

And this is the sewing that I have been doing. My pt says to sit only 20 minutes at a time, so I've been sitting in my sewing chair at the machine...is that cheating with my resting?!

I LOVE your view! You new quilt is going to be very colorful. I have a tough time with mystery projects. While working on the first one, I realized I need the big picture and without it go slowly nuts. Now you know....

I agree--orange is better! I love the colour combination in this quilt! Great vegetable print! Glad to see that snow has disappeared in your neck of the woods--we had another dusting of snow today!

I love your orange and purple combinations. It will be fun to see the progress on your Mystery Quilt. Hope that your foot heals quickly.

I think orange and green are opposite each other on the color wheel, aren't they? Or part of a triad? I don't remember, but it's a combination I've always thought was striking--and I do love brights!

Not sure if sitting at the machine is cheating or not, but don't ask your therapist and he can't say to stop, can he?
