WIP Wednesday

I am making more 9 patches.

This time~it's red ones! I thought I might need a run to the fabric store to shore up on reds but I raided my stash of patriotics of 2.5 inch red strips.

I finally found my redwork blocks. I had searched and searched the sewing room and wouldn't ya know~they were in the last place I looked!  Funny thing is that I looked in that particular cabinet and at the baggie they were in but never opened the baggie! On the top and bottom of the pile of redwork blocks were Wisconsin blocks...ummm...

I stitched the blocks in the summer 2007 on the kid's and my first trip back to Southlake, Texas. DS stayed with friends while DD and I moteled it.  The Hilton to be exact...nice digs!  Any way, DD slept a lot so I was able to stitch these blocks while she was snoozing.

I have this wall hanging on my day guild Procrastination List to complete by the June 2012 meeting.  Looks like I found this just in time to complete!  :)

Here are the redwork blocks with the alternating red 9 patches.

ps.  Do you believe in *kismet*?  This is UFO #2 on my list....

Pat. I love it---and the story behind them! The nine patches in all shades of red are a perfect choice to set between your stitchery blocks.

I know I have considered and rejected several alternating block ideas for some blue snowmen blocks with the months stitched in but no way to have enough blues to borrow your idea! Not after squeezing out 3 quilts of valor in blue and whites! (Dad was an airman)
