More About the Scrapbook...

…this year, DD and I decided to make a scrapbook for a Milwaukee Admirals' player. We were able to choose and Viktor Ardvisson is our player. It is totally voluntary to make a scrapbook and we are not financially funded by the team. The scrapbook is our gift to the player to remember the year with the Milwaukee Admirals. It is my understanding, that the players' Moms really enjoy the scrapbooks and look forward to seeing their sons' year in review. Many of the players are from European countries so they don't have very many visitors during hockey season. For me, it is a gift from one hockey Mom to another.  :) As a scrapper, I attend games and other events hosted by the Admirals' and take way too many pictures! Events that I can't attend, usually another scrapper will attend and is happy to share pictures. Some of the events are open to the public and some are for season ticket holders only…one incentive to buy a season ticket, right?!

Viktor is from Sweden so this is my rendition of his flag in fabric.

His book is really growing fast!

I usually start with a picture/name/number page.

Next are pictures from a few games.

The players carved pumpkins.

Here they are at the Christmas Party.

Special Camo jerseys were worn than auctioned. I believe the money raised supported veterans.

Also, purple jerseys were worn than auctioned. This money raised supported cancer research.

New this year, a score board of games played.

Goofy calendar pages are my favorite! The tackier the better. :)

In a nutshell, this has been my project since January 1, 2015. One of the last events of the year is the Player-Scrapper banquet where we present the scrapbook to our player. This year the Banquet is in April! And only two (2)! regular season games are scheduled after the banquet!  That makes for one happy scrapper here! because Viktor's scrapbook is basically done then…unless he wants the last two games scrapped! Totally up to the player and scrapper to agree. :)

Only a little bit of sewing on this Whoop! Whoop!

I've Been Sewing!

I cut this out last year -really December- and I just started to piece the blocks together. Nothing very complicated…simply framing out the three different Red Wings -the hockey team- fabric leftover from the Christmas gifts. DS ask that I make it for him and the only instructions I received were 'to make it as big as possible'.  ummm…I'm shooting for 90 x 90.  Let's see if I make it!

The first half of the blocks are on the design wall.

Whoop! Whoop! 2.20.2015

I'm not sure who pieced this but I quilted this QOV from the Oconomowoc Quilt Guild!

I am off to a rather slow quilting start of 2015. I did get back into the sewing room this week so hopefully I will have some progress to show soon, :)

Does *THIS* Count?

After a January of virtually no sewing or quilting…I'm easing back into it.

I made a lanyard for a jump drive. :)

and

a few skate lace keychains.

WOW!

In all seriousness…I've been attending DD's hockey games. She is nearing the end of her first season on the girl's varsity High School team. I believe their record is 5-15. Not quite a winning season but the girls have been enthusiastic and learning a great deal!

I also have been attending the Milwaukee Admirals games and preparing a scrapbook for a rookie this season, Viktor Arvidsson. I've finished the months of October, November, December and January. That just leaves the games to be played in February, March and April to be scrapped. I want to make a cover for his scrapbook too…which I need to get to soon.  :)

That's my story and I'm sticking to it!
