Whoop! Whoop! 7.28.2017

I have a finish to share with you!

The brown/cream strip tube ruler quilt is done!

Quilt stats:

pattern: Simplicity

panto: popcorn

size (before quilting): 57 x 76

destination: Oconomowoc Quilt Guild/Jefferson County Foster Care kids

Here is the red/tan/blue strip tube ruler quilt in progress.

I really wanted to set it in the off center barn raising, but when I started to sew it together - well, the seams were definitely NOT matching up! bummer, right?!

So I settled on what I have named - Hanging Diamonds. I staggered the rows for added interest. I'm sure this has a proper name but I just sorta put the blocks on the design wall and the quilt formed itself with very little input from me!

(smiley face)

I was also able to quilt it down today.

panto: happy times

That looks great. I prefer the diamond lay out, really lets the colours sing together. Beautiful.

Wow! That really popped out when you switched it to the hanging diamonds configuration, didn't it? Both of these are really nice and sure to bring smiles.

Congrats on your finish. How great that it's going to a foster care program! I like the diamonds on your quilt, too.

Hi Pat,
I saw your link on Amanda's site - I'm from Wisconsin too! I really like the Simplicity quilt - those colors are beautiful. And the Hanging Diamonds really came together when you switched up the layout. Wow, it looks great. ~smile~ Roseanne
