WIP Wednesday 6.26.2019

Over the weekend, we completed Phase 1 of moving DD back to college. This semester, she is moving into an off campus apartment. This was the weekend 4 out of 5 people could move her furniture in...

So we loaded up the heavy stuff in the UHaul and off we went!

Sewing and quilting waited for me to return...

I finished piecing one more quilt with the kitties! I only have enough left for a few 6.5 inch squares for my favorite I-SPY comfort quilt...

I started out trying for scrappy but somewhat organized creeped in. lol

At about 50 x 70, it will keep a little one wrapped with a warm hug!

Whoop! Whoop! 6.21.2019

Yay!

It's a Finish!

This quilt certainly was a fast one. I just blogged about it the other day here. Worked on the binding on Wednesday and turned into the guild last night. All in all, maybe a week for this quilt creation!

The finished quilt.

pattern: my process described here, not in detail. :)

The backing.

I used a larger piece with flowers and hats that had been donated to the guild. I did supplement with a little bit of fabric from my stash...

panto: large scribbles

really?! I should have brought this one 10 years ago when I started long-arming with pantos. I probably would have saved about $1,000! just kidding, sorta!

WIP Wednesday 6.12.2019

My great purge continues so sewing/quilting is taking a back seat. Also, another nephew graduated high school so we were in Michigan to celebrate at his open house. :)

Last Thursday, I went over to my friend's house (she is also in charge of the Comfort Quilts wing of my night guild) to help cut batting. While I was there, I took a flimsy that needed quilting. So I worked on quilting down this flimsy.

I looked in my stash and found just enough of this green/yellow/blue/pink checkerboard for binding. Not the best match, but in my stash and I was happy to use it! and that's the name of the game! lol

WIP Wednesday 6.5.2019

The de-cluttering continues on the main floor...

...but I did manage to sneak into the sewing room while DH was mowing the lawn and DD was napping before dinner time.

My result is that I finished sewing the handles onto the cancer recovery totes. I also was able to sew up matching pillows. I'm decided not to stuff the pillows and just to pin them to the outside of the bags. Done just in the nick of time as tomorrow is the final meeting of the year for my day guild.

Design Wall Monday 6.3.2019

Not very much sewing has been happening the last week here at Bell Creek Quilts!

I did manage to cut and start sewing a few cancer recovery bags for my day guild. This Thursday is the last meeting until September, so I figured I better make a few. I always think I am being so very careful cutting but as you can see...some are vertical and some are horizontally orientated!

lol

So, what have I been up to?

After 12 years, I am long over do for re-organizing and de-cluttering. So I began...

the laundry area...

the kitchen...

the linen closet...

the master bath closet...

It feels so good to have all the little baskets matching! I really need to purge my closet then onto the basement and sewing area!

and DD had a birthday! She made the cake from scratch...Strawberry Champagne!

She's 20 now...how did that happen?!
