Design Wall Monday 4.29.2019

I had a few units from this quilt leftover and somehow (?!), it morphed into it's own quilt. LOL

I'm actually quite happy with 'how happy' this quilt top looks.

This quilt also uses up quite a bit of odds and ends that have been hanging around.

So Happy!

Wednesday Check In 4.24.2019

I'm on a roll!

I quilted down another one of the brick inspired quilts!

I really should take this panto off my table and force myself to sew something else! right?

NOT.

It is so easy and forgiving. :)

Design Wall Monday 4.22.2019

At our May Guild meeting our focus is bricks.

Here is my pile of bricks and contrast fabric (the green) for my next quilt.

I completed my columns.

Pieced all the columns together  and borders.

I also quilted today!

H2H First Check In

I'm joining in with Sarah at Confessions of a Fabric Addict for her 2019 H2H Comfort Quilt Drive, more information can be found here or click the link in my sidebar.

Our May Guild Sew Day is focusing on bricks (of any size) so one of the patterns I had cut and ready to go was Bonnie Hunter's Bricks and Stepping Stones, found here. I've made this pattern before and it really is a fun one to put together. My bonus was that I was able to use quite a few of my blacks that were pretty small and cleared a lot out of the stash...what else are you going to use those bits of yardage for? lol

One quilt completed for H2H!

Design Wall Monday 4.15.2019

The theme for our May Quilt Guild Sew Day is bricks. I took a bag of bricks that were orange and red. I separated out a few of the reds and then cut blue bricks (3.5 x 6.5 inch-by hand). I wanted the quilt to be a little bigger so I hunted in my larger patriotic scraps and ended up with a scrappy border, too! The only same fabric is the sashing and inner border. LOL

I actually think this in the back of one of Red Pepper's quilt but I liked it so much...I made it the front!

Design Wall Monday 4.8.2019

I had parts for 4 chain blocks leftover, so I swapped out the middle square for a beige and made this little baby quilt. One of the homes for the 2019 H2H Comfort Quilts is requesting 36 x 36 baby quilts. I hope this one works!

My niece had her baby last week!

Yes!

For some reason I thought her baby was due at the end of April NOT the beginning! I'm a little behind the eight ball on this one!

Slow Stitchng Sunday 4.7.2019

Slow stitching my binding old school!

Lately, I've been sewing the binding on both sides by machine. It is so durable and fast!

But, today for this project...hand sewing the binding back seemed the correct choice. Now to make and attach a sewing sleeve and this project will be done well before it's June 2019 deadline! YAY!
