Stay At Home Round Robin: Prompt 6

Our host for SAHRR: Prompt 6 is Emily at The Darling Dogwood. Her choice is kite block or any quilt block starting with your first initial. It's okay to repeat the first initial block. I decided to stick with the kite block! I was searching for the 'how' of the making of a kite block and then I remembered that I had purchased the small periwinkle aka kite shape template from Missouri Star Quilt Company to use when I get to my spider web blocks/quilt. A quick search found this tutorial, the Stretched Periwinkle. I simply downsized the measurements to fit a charm/ 5 inch cut square.

In no time, I had a pretty good stack of kite blocks. You might noticed, I didn't take the paper off the template.

pattern: adaption of the MSQC's Stretched Periwinkle Quilt

I'm still feeling this is a 'hot mess'.

I'm thinking about adaptions/changes to make so I like it more. :)

Sharing today with Emily at The Darling Dogwood.

  1. I'm sure you will get it all organized to your liking. The center is very organized so I think you will get it all ship shape.

  5. Great kite blocks! I had forgotten that it is also known as the Periwinkle block; I should have mentioned that. I have found that some SAHRR quilts and components need to percolate longer than others. I'm confident you'll come up with something you love using the pieces you have.
