I have both a finish and a NOT (well, it's a flimsy!)
First is my finish. The green 'Duckworth' is done and ready for the Crumb Trunk Show on August 19, 2025!
I learned a few 'things' with this quilt (and my piecing style):
1. My scraps have plenty of other colors mixed in, so I don't feel I needed to add the 'extra pop'. If I do, make sure the scraps are on the smaller size.
2. Old habits die hard...I really didn't 'need' 4 patches as my 'starters'. I should have just stuck with the log cabin beginning pieces.
3. I have.more.green...so I will try this again. :)

My second is my NOT but it is a flimsy. It is The Ribbon Sew- Along by Alycia of Alycia Quilts. I just love her designs and this was quick! I did piece the first border in the wrong order but you really don't notice and when I put it on the design wall for this post. Well...sideways but I just went with it! :)
pattern: The Ribbon Quilt by Alycia
You can find the links on her blog if you search 'The Ribbon Quilt' but better do it in a jiffy because the steps will vanish in a few weeks! After that, the pattern should be available for purchase.
Sharing today with Alycia at Finish or NOT Friday.

I enjoyed reading what you learned form making this beautiful piece, Pat. Now I wonder did it use up as many scraps as you thought. I'm just done two projects using scraps and I swear I have more than I started with which defies logic I know. Anyway, happy continued stitching from me, J
Oooh. The serpentine quilting. Perfect for your Duckworth. And now I simply have to make one.
What gorgeous work--I really like the fact that the 'blocks' aren't easily seen so it looks way more complicated than it is!!! The Ribbon Waves looks great, too, framed in the darker blue!
Love both of these, Pat! The Duckworth turned out beautifully - the greens with pops of color are so pretty. The Ribbon quilt top is lovely - I bet Alycia is thrilled that you sewed along!
Both are fabulous. I love the green crumbs with a few pops. I enjoy making Alycia's patterns also but I haven't made the new one yet. .Wonderful
