WIP Wednesday 2.26.2014

Apple Blossom Time is now a flimsy!

Yeah!

Unfortunately, it is too big for my design wall and also a tad big for the hallway.  :)

This is about the best picture of it...

I ordered a new panto for this quilt ~ Apple Blossom by Lorien Quilting ~ but it hasn't arrived yet.

I will put the Apple Blossom Time aside and start working on the coaches' quilts.  :)

Design Wall Monday 2.17.2014

I'm starting a new quilt.  This one is promised to my SIL, Carol.  She has been waiting patiently for me to make it.  :)

It's Elsie Campbell's Apple Blossom Time quilt found in her book, Fun with Nine Patches and Snowballs.

Here is one completed apple blossom.  I think my blossoms are going to be wonky!  That will only add to the charm!

Whoop! Whoop! 2.07.2014

I did it!

I quilted and bound my Valentine place mats!

Inspiration found here.

All the fabric was from the stash.  :)

I found a little bit of St. Patrick's Day to cobble together backing.  My attempt at making the place mats reversible.

I'm thinking that the St. Patrick's side will need a shamrock or *something* appliqued to perk them up a bit!

I had the biggest chunk of the Irish Blessing.

February Goal Setting

Time for the Fiber of All Sorts February Goal Setting linky party in her
'A Year of Lovely Finishes'!

This month I am setting three goals:

Goal 1: Quilt and bind the Valentine's place mats.  I couldn't find my original twister hearts so I proceeded with plan B.  Inspiration found here.

Goal 2:  Quilt and bind QOV from February 1st Sew Day.

Goal 3: Piece, quilt and bind quilt for my SIL. She has been waiting patiently since October 2013!

Time to fix dinner in the crock pot then lunch. After lunch, I hope to assemble the top into a flimsy...

Quilts of Valor Sew Day

Today is a Quilts of Valor Sew Day.  While I didn't register online ~ I decided to sew along on my own.

I found a few blocks made from the Mock Trip Around the World pattern in red-cream-blue plus matching fabric (!!!) to create another top.

Last night, I prepped by sewing together the segments for the blocks.

For this quilt, I am pairing it with a pillow panel...
