Thursday's Tellings...6.22.2017

This week has flown by in a blur! Can hardly believe it is THURSDAY already - how did that happen?!

On Monday, I quilted down this green tumbler. This was pieced by another member of the Oconomowoc Quilt Guild. I provided the backing, binding and batting for this one as it didn't have anything with it when I picked it up.

The size is approximately 53 x 77. A good size lap quilt.

Pattern credit: Tumbler blocks

I quilted it with the Bubbles panto (one source here) as I used fish as the backing. My guild is in need of boyish/manish quilts. My hope is with the fish and would appeal to a male.

On Tuesday, I started another Graduation Quilt. The party is July 1st so I have a few days to complete. DD's choice of colors were blue and purple.

Pattern credit: Blueberry Pie (one source here).

Wednesday I meet up with our Oconomowoc Quilters Guild Charity Quilt leader. We went through our stash of donated quilts and chose about 12 to donate to the Jefferson County Foster Care System. While we were in Jefferson, we stopped for lunch at the local bakery and of course, the quilt shop - Tea and Textiles. Sorry - no pictures and no website!

Which brings us to today!  (grin) Laundry, sewing on the Grad quilt, ice dyeing a back and thinking about loading another donation quilt....

Whoop! Whoop! 6.9.2017

I finished the binding on the 'French Stars' today.

I'm really liking this quilt (happy face)! It used a technique that I named 'Bev Stars' since Bev shared the technique at a Helping Hands Quilting Bee Day.

I quilted it with the Curly Hearts panto, one source here.

WIP Wednesday 6.7.2017

I had a busy sewing week here at Bell Creek Quilts!

I accomplished quite a few items and I didn't even have a list-lol!

First up:

I finished piecing the Big Baby Star that I started in Memorial Day. This is a video tutorial from Jenny Doan of the Missouri Star Quilt Company, found here. (you'll need to hit play to watch the video)

Second up:

I quilted down the French Stars.

Third up:

I quilted down a Donation Quilt that was pieced by Linda.

pattern info: none given but she is sharing the pattern at the next meeting and will update then. I was asked to quilt the quilt for the show and share part of the demo.  :)
