The Start of Another QOV
I started another QOV using the leftover 2.5 inch squares pieced using Bonnie Hunter's Leaders and Enders technique.
This is a variation on a pattern that I have seen around the web. One is found in Alex Anderson's Super Simple Quilts Book #1: Twist and Turn pattern. Another is Mary's Forest Bricks uses a similar idea.

Boxy Stars is a Flimsy
I've been struggling a bit with this one.
Today I sewed the inner and outer borders.
Now it's ready to be quilted~well, once it is loaded and the back seamed and loaded, too. :)
Think this will get the nice, big and easy Ebb and Flow panto.

It's a Finish...
...but I can't 'Reveal' it yet! I finished up my Fall FAB Challenge 2010 and it has started it's journey to Cher's home. (Cher is my *giftie* this round).
Here is the box getting weighed at FedEx. 5.6 pounds. Worried, Cher?! Don't be! It really is not big at all! :)
A few of the scraps from this project. Yes, indeed, I was fusing and raggy edge applique. Oooops!~does that give away too much information?!
Check back next week for our Fall FAB Challenge 2010 Reveal! See you then! :)

WIP Wednesday
I decided to dig in the closet and found the pattern and a few of the parts needed to make this patriotic Boxy Stars. I dug into another closet, and found pre-cut 2.5 inch strips and I was ready to start sewing! Three times at the machine and all the smaller blocks are complete and ready to be sewn into the larger 12.5 inch blocks.

Design Wall Monday
Talk about a fast quilt top!
I think that I started cutting this and piecing a few blocks on Friday, finished the blocks on Saturday then joined my continents into the world on Sunday. I am not really sure where I brought the fat quarter pack but I needed to supplement a little from the stash, hence the funky pieced border treatment. A nice child's quilt at 49 x 67. Once quilted, it will go to Margaret's Hope Chest. Carin is hoping to collect 30 children's quilts (45 x 60) by December 1st.

Christmas Gifts of Past
Christmas gifts of past...JudyL is hosting a give away if you post about handmade Christmas gifts!
Since my family consist of many travelers (myself included), I like to give gift cards...I know! But gift cards are easy to pack both for the gifter (me!) and the giftee (my relatives!).
In years past, I have made Humbug bags (left) (one pattern source here) to hide the gift cards in and another year, I made wonder wallets (right) (pattern here) to hide the gift cards.
Any ideas on what to make this year to hide the gift cards?!

An Update
I have one more row of blocks to make but I am running out of room on the design batting! I better start joining a few continents so I can add the final row...on top. I'm building this quilt from the bottom up...something a little different!
quilt inspiration found here.
I was asked if I would make a few bracelets from hockey laces and elastic. I made two awhile ago but mine frayed pretty bad and the stitching came out. So while I was at JoAnn's, I picked up some new Fray Check and made these bracelets today. Getting ready to pack them up to take to the game tonight~hope they are dry! :)

A Party Purse
I knew that I couldn't be sporting my Milwaukee Admirals backpack purse at the Ronald McDonald Charity Dinner that DH and I are attending tonight so I made this little purse today to hold my Wonder Wallet, tissue and chapstick. I had to improvise a little bit but I think it will be just fine for the Charity Dinner tonight. :)

Ads Quilt Finished~Puck Drops on Saturday!
I actually finished sewing the binding back a few days ago on my Milwaukee Admirals quilt.
I was fortunate to be *invited* to the Season Ticket Holders *Meet and Greet* Event tonight where, yes!, All. The. Current. Players. Were. Available. To. Sign. Autographs! Thank You, Nate!
Way. Too. Cool. for a hockey geek like myself.
The signatures are kinda small but I guess the guys were leaving room for everyone to sign. :) Only one of the newer players made a mistake with his new Admiral number! :)
*Another* member of the team, Roscoe the mascot, wasn't at the event tonight. I just might end up dragging my quilt to a game to get Roscoe's signature on his orange block.
Maybe. Maybe. Not.

Wednesday's Roadtrip
Yesterday, I was lucky to be able to enjoy a Quilt Outing with my friend Debbie!
We stopped and picked up her new machine~woohoo! Lucky Girl!
We also went to Olbrich's Gardens 'Quilts in Bloom' Show in Madison.
There were about 50 quilts on display and they were stunning!
I'm not too sure about copyrights and posting on the blog, but I just had to share this one of the cow! after all, this is Wisconsin. I didn't record the quilt artist~so if this is your wonderful work...email me or leave a comment so that I may credit your creation. :)
I was also interested in HOW the quilts were hung. I'm thinking that I could hang my quilts this way from the drop ceiling in my basement above the brick walls. maybe.

WIP Wednesday
I started my next project~a Halloween quilt to use up some of my 6.5 inch novelty squares.
Inspired by this quilt here. I'm not sure I'm liking it so far. Maybe when I get more rows made then I'll like it better. :)
One can hope, right?!

It's A Finish!
My friend, KathyW pieced the blocks from my fabric donation to our Day Guild's Ugly Fabric Challenge. Sorry~not sure of the pattern source. :(
I added the black inner border from my stash and outer border from fabric she gave me.
I was going to shop for backing but decided to shop the stash first.
This is what I came up with~muslin and a chunk of the original fabric I donated. I think it works okay. :)
A close up of the Challenge Fabric.
