Whoop! Whoop! 7.31.2015

Here is the top half of the Snowman flimsy.

And this is the whole Snowman flimsy.

Gotta love when the flimsy is bigger than your design wall and the available space!

*grin*

I'm not exactly sure what will be the backing so after I stay stitch the edges -- it will go into *the to be quilted* pile.

Pattern info: Kari Patch Designs' Two's Company.

I made more blocks to bring the quilt to approximately 90 x 90.

On a personal note:

DD and her Mission Team arrived safe and sound in South Africa. She is currently attempting to sleep. :) Saturday will be spent traveling to Krugar Park where the Team will go on a safari! On Sunday, the Team travels to Mbabrane, Swaziland where they will be partnering with Children's Cup for a week of Missionary Work...

So Fast!

Now all the four patches are complete!

Next, it's time to join the *continents into the world* and the flimsy will be complete.

I just might make it for the July 31, 2015 deadline...

WIP Wednesday 7.29.2015

I realized last Saturday when Fiber of All Sorts posted the ALYoF July 2015 Finishing Party that, I indeed, needed to get busy if I was to join in.

So on Monday afternoon, I cut the A block pieces and sewed them together. Nancy at Wyoming Breezes commented that this pattern goes together quickly and she is right! When I sewed on Tuesday, I finished all but three of the A blocks.

My wall isn't big enough to have all the blocks on it -- so here are the two extra rows blocks.

I was short only because I had mis-counted how many I needed!

Been there, done that!

Between errands and what-not, I was able to cut and prep half of the B blocks.

This is going to be ONE.BRIGHT.QUILT!

Great for those cloudy winter Sconnie Days!

What I'm Working On…7/27/2105

…I finished sewing my Strip Tube quilt together and sure enough, I pulled the bias edges out of whack.

*bummer*

I decided to sew my inner/ outer border together and treat them as one unit. I measured down the middle of the quit and cut the borders that size then sewed it together to *fit*.

I hope it quilts out…*grin*

Saturday's Sewing 7.25.2015

…and a little from Friday, too!

About three years ago, I brought the Strip Tube Ruler while at the Madison (Wisconsin) Quilt Expo.

I was intrigued by the technique and the resulting blocks.

Fast forward to May 2015, Terri at Ben Franklin Crafts demonstrated the Strip Tube Ruler at Quilt Club. I was once again, intrigued.

So I dug out the ruler and found a pattern I liked on Pinterest -- sorry no link back as it was uploaded by the Pinterest Board User --- and set to work on it.

Here is what I have so far.

The black is a little short so I need to make another tube set to get the three remaining blocks blocks. I'm really liking it but all the edges are bias. Hope I don't pull *it* all out of shape as I sew it together!

Whoop! Whoop! 7.24.2015

I added a little more background and sashings to my next galaxy quilt!

Whoop! Whoop!

A bonus for me --- all fabric from the stash! This flimsy will go into a bag with the other star fabric to be quilted at some time in the future.  :)

On My Design Wall…7.20.2015

I cut my star strips into 3.5 inch squares and attempted to mix them up.

WIP Wednesday 7.8.2015

I'm working on putting the borders on the second pink strata.

No plan for this flimsy but I can tell you that the floral has been aging since 2005/2006. I remember buying it when I lived in Texas!

Sometimes it feels good to sew just because...

On The Design Wall

It's been awhile since I had anything on the design wall as I have been working on the Little Dresses for the past little bit.  :)

Here's what I did…I *frogged* the stripped pink portion and made two stratas. This is the first one. I needed to be creative with the borders to get it to size. Right now it's approximately 60 x 72 before quilting.  I'm thinking about donating this to my church's woman's retreat in the spring of 2016.  So I'm setting it aside and will wait to quilt/finish this one.

I'm not totally lovin' it…but maybe it will grow on me?!

ALYoF…July 2015 Goal Party

My ALYoF July Goal is to piece this quilt to a flimsy.

It's been hanging around the sewing room for quite awhile and it's time to get this winter flimsy moving along.

Housekeeping: I'm #44 on the July 2015 Goal Setting Party.

Whoop! Whoop! 7.3.2015

My Friday finish is more Little Dresses!

Nine more from the pillowcases that I received earlier in the week.

I'll be turning this set in on Sunday July 5, 2015 and that should wrap up my Little Dress making… but never say never so I just might be making more!

Onto Something New…Maybe…

I started another quilt…jelly roll race style but it is NOT what I pictured in my mind!

Will need to think this one over for a bit.

We had our last official sew day for the Little Dresses.

Are you ready?

The count is at 421!

Whoop! Whoop!

We are expecting a few more to come in but not exactly sure of the number.

While I was there…I picked up a few pillowcases.

More Little Dresses to be made!
