MidWeek Makers 5.22.2019

I sewed more on CatDog 3 as this is the third and hopefully, final quilt with cats and dogs. I do have a few 6.5 inch squares leftover that will show up from time to time in my ISPY quilts.

I told myself I wasn't going to buy more fabric for this quilt yet, I was at that box store and FQ's were 97 cents! Two made their way home with me.

I also realized that I need more length soooo, I made some paw prints following this tutorial.

Guess what? Still needed more length so off to the store again. eh gads! I was good and only brought 12 inches of 4 cat/dog fabrics. You guessed it, the saleslady thought I was crazy. Guess she doesn't cut third of a yard very often...lol.

Guess what? Still need more length. eh gads! I'm so over CatDog 3. Found something sorta suitable in my stash, deep in the stash but only one!

CatDog 3 was suppose to be Easy, Sleezy and Fast.

Well, it is..., well- It Is What It Is....

In all it's glory, I present CatDog 3 as a flimsy!

H2H Final Check-In

and the quilts are off!

It's already time for the final check-in for Sarah's Hands to Help Comfort Quilt Drive! Seems like this deadline creeped up on me! LOL...don't they all?!

This little quilt is winging its way to Jack's Basket.

This is the first time I made a little quilt (36 x 36) to donate. I definitely see this as a trend. Quick, fast and useful! Win! Win! Win!

I blogged about this quilt here.

See above link for info on this quilt.

This quilt is on its way to Happy Chemo, Em's Scrapbasket.

This is the third or fourth time I've sent to quilts to Emily. This is such a sweet place to send a Quilty hug-doesn't everyone need a Quilty hug?

I blogged about this quilt here.

See above link for info on this quilt.

Design Wall Monday 5.20.2019

My design wall is pretty empty except for some animal tracks...

pattern found here

I thought the animal tracks would fill in for the next cat/dog quilt...

Except I am aunt 9 inches short even with the tracks.

Quite the pickle as I was trying NOT to buy more cat/dog fabric for this last project.

Oh well....

Mid Week Making 5.15.2019

I was able to quilt down the next quilt, the coin/brick quilt. This one uses cat and dog and paw print fabrics that were leftover from a project last year or so ago. Unfortunately, I made the other quilt and didn't blog about it. :(

It was a tumbler quilt for my SIL who is battling bone cancer...

six rows of 21 coins/bricks long

sashing: 2.5 inch cut

inner border: 2.5 inch cut

Whoop! Whoop! 5.10.2019

Lots of finishes this week! Whoop! Whoop!

Project #1

I have been dragging my feet over my son's truck quilt. I finally decided to JUST! DO! IT! I'm not too experienced at printing on photo paper and then appliqué but I decided JUST! DO! IT!

Not perfect by any stretch of the imagination but each time I JUST! DO! IT! I learn a little bit.

pattern info: none. I just winged it from a picture of the Pete.

Note to self: keep base number same.
Sky based on 6 inch finished,
Pete on 5 inch and road on 6 inch.

WIP Wednesday 5.8.2019

A mixed bag of works in progress...

Project #1:

Binding a quilt.

I ran short of binding! It's been awhile since I did this oops!

On a happier note-just enough thread on the spool/bobbin to sew the first step of the binding.

Yay! Sorta makes up for the short binding oops... sorta...

Project #2:

I finished piecing my rwb plus quilt.

pattern inspiration: a blend of tutorials.

Check out my Pinterest board, here.

Project #3:

I started piecing a purple plus quilt.

pattern inspiration: same as above.

Design Wall Monday 5.6.2019

The start of a new project!

A Plus Quilt, made with 5 inch squares.

pattern info: loads of inspiration out on the web.

I've been saving ideas to my Pinterest page,
                     found here.

I blended a few different tutorials that I
                     discovered on Pinterest.

How's THAT for a bad reference?!

Whoop! Whoop! 5.3.2019

TaDa!

All finished!

This is such a happy quilt! I still have it hanging outside the sewing room to brighten my days. I'll be sad to see this one go to it's forever home but hope it brings someone else as many happy thoughts as me!

Perhaps...I'll make myself one...someday...sometime...
