Our day started with the 8:30 am service at Church. Today was the last sermon in the series 'Step Into Life', pretty appropriate as I have been dealing with some emotional issues that have *sidelined* me~as of late. I think it is time that I Stepped Back Into Life! I especially liked all the doors. As the Superior Mother says, "When God closes a door, He always opens a window." (I'm a big fan of Maria and the Sound Of Music :))
After service, we then went out to eat at the Delafield Hotel's restaurant Andrews! all I can say is YUM! YUM! YUM! I want to sign up for the Mother's Day Brunch right now. :)
All else has been pretty mellow~napping and TV time.
Hope everyone has a Fun and Blessed Easter Day!

Whoop! Whoop! 3.29.2013
Yay! I have a few finishes!
First Finish: Eric's Milwaukee Admirals backpack. Eric is a goalie fan so I ordered the masks online to make this one. I think I have made about 6 of these Milwaukee Admirals' bags and about 3 non Admirals ones. I'm thinking of digging into the *too small to wear tie dye shirt* pile and make one for summertime!
Second finish: Just took the last stitches in the binding of my Potato Chip quilt. I'm really liking this one. :) A simple optical illusion and so happy to have it done!

A Small Finish
It's an International Diner here at Bell Creek Quilts!
I took the mistake from here and made the Finnish place mat. The Swedish and Canadian are based on the scrapbook covers previously made, Swedish here and Canadian here. For the US flag~well, it's from this set as I wasn't sure which other flag to include. :)
Happy Eating!
I also finished up six more Cancer Recovery Totes with comfort pillows. This brings my total to 10 that will be donated this year.
Finally~how silly is this?! Little project on the long arm... :)

Motivation Lost!
if found....please return to Bell Creek Quilts ASAP!
This poor QOV has been draped across the long arm awaiting the binding to be sewn back. Now how hard is that, I ask?! only a couple of hours worth of sewing....
I started more Cancer Recovery bags, then had to (right? had TO) buy more fabric for the lining but it wasn't enough! Now this project, too is stalled. :(
Good News~ Eric from the *Duct Tape* people gave me a Tshirt to make him a Milwaukee Admirals backpack....but I HAVE TO BUY more hockey fabric! right?!

Whoop! Whoop! 3.15.2013
Not very much sewing happening these past few weeks, again!
I did manage to sew together the scrapbook cover for DD's player, Juuso Puustinen. Last year, I told her she couldn't scrap Puutie since he had so many uuuu's in his name! So last year she brought extra letter stickers so this year he was a *go*!
This was my second attempt to get the proportions correct on the Finnish flag. :)
The was also a distress email sent out that the Waukesha Memorial Hospital Breast Care Clinic was out of tote bags. I made the four seen here and I think there were a total of 25 or 30 made and donated at the last meeting! One member made 15! wowza!

Happy Pi Day
get it?! 3.14!
DD volunteered to take pie into math class to celebrate Pi Day. This year, DS made her a French Silk to share with her classmates.
Such a sweet brother! :)
recipe here but he wanted to try powder sugar instead of granular...

What I'm Working On...
...two projects.
First project:
I finally made the blocks for my *Potato Chip* quilt! I've been seeing these around the web and have been wanting to try one. So last Friday, I used the reward system with my sewing room activities. Do something I like (make 8 blocks), do something I don't want to do (trim 45 skate lace bracelets), do something I like (make 8 more blocks), do something I don't want to do (feed string through backpacks) and finally do something I like (make more blocks)! Before I knew it~I had all the blocks made and a few projects finished up!
I never really *found* exact instructions for this quilt~I cut my centers at 8.5 inches and the framing strips at 2.5 inches. The blocks will finish at 12 inches.
Second project: The scrapbook cover for Jonathon Blum's scrapbook. Jon's now playing for our parent club, the Nashville Predators but I still scrapped half the season while he was here in Milwaukee.
Now the questions is: do I have the Admirals' office mail it to Jon or do I try to attend a Predator game and try to meet up with him after the game to give it to Jon? A big part of the fun in these players' scrapbooks is watching the players reactions to the work you have done on his book...

Friday Finishes
It's been a whole week since I last posted! and in that time I have completed a few projects~yeah!
First up: My Blue Heaven. I did need to buy yardage of the beige for the first and third border otherwise...the rest is from stash. I especially like the binding as I pieced together all my bits leftover from other projects! Seeing that the quilt is so very scrappy~the scrappy binding fits right in. :)
pattern: Bonnie's My Blue Heaven
Second: The Milwaukee Admirals Booster Club Crew was running short on skate lace bracelets. Pink and blue~add 45 to the count for this season.
Third: DD traded my services...right?! The Jeremy Smith fan who sits behind us traded DD an Anthony Bitetto signed mouse pad for a Milwaukee Admirals backpack (to be made by me!). Somehow, I did the work and DD is enjoying the benefits! :)
Fourth: Can't make just one now can I?! hhehehehe!
