I'm making my next Villa Rosa pattern for the 6 Quilts in 6 Weeks Challenge. This will be my second quilt although this is week 3. I did miss out on week 1. :(

I picked October Sky and an Eagle panel.

 I made more rail fence blocks...this time in pink/gray. I picked a different gray this time. :)

 My finish this week is the Villa Rosa's Stars and Stripes.

MidWeek Update 4.15.2026

My Villa Rosa Stars and Stripes is looking good! I was even able to sub in my 3.5 inch leftover strips for the 4.5 inch cut the pattern called for! win-win. :)

Design Wall Monday 4.13.2026

I wasn't going to participate in the Villa Rosa 6 Quilts in 6 Weeks Challenge but...I volunteered to make a LeMoyne Star quilt for the MelonHeads using hst's and Villa Rosa's Stars and Stripes pattern has been on my wish list to make. Well, this pattern was 'on top' of my Villa Rosa pattern stack so, of course, I decided to make it... I emailed Tricia and she said to join in the fun even if I missed the first week!

Here is my fabric draw for the Villa Rosa's Stars and Stripes pattern and I'll use my leftover 3.5 inch RWB strips for the top/bottom border.

SoScrappy Saturday 4.11.2026

Today is the second Saturday of April of the color pink.

For this week, I made pink and gray 4 patches. The colors are pale so they don't show up on the design wall well. Trust me...there are blocks on the wall. :)

Finish or NOT Friday 4.10.2026

I have two finishes this week. The first one is the Stacked Stars Banner quilt. I received a bag from Pat that had parts and fabrics in it along with this pattern. The pattern is dated 2010. The stars finish at 10 inches. Pat was gifted this bag of fabric by Terri before she passed in 2022. At then end of the month, the MelonHeads are presenting a program on settings so this will work for the example of vertical settings.

My second finish is a panel quilt. I received the panel from my FB QOV Working Stars group and paired it with the leftover 3.5 inch RWB strips. This is a relatively quick quilt and I enjoy making quilts in this style.

Today is miles and miles of binding...not too interesting.

Design Wall Monday 4.6.2026

 I inherited an UFO from a friend of a friend who has passed away. I also volunteered to make a quilt that had blocks set vertically and last Saturday was also the online sewing day for my FB QOV Working Stars group. It just seemed like 'the perfect storm' so I pulled out 'the UFO bag' and took a look...

A pattern, flying geese, hst's and various yardage. I was able to make 10: 10 inch stars and cut a panel piece from the gold/navy stars. I did cobble one more star after I took this picture.

I auditioned a few different prints to piece with the stars and settled on a beige print with tan and green circles. The green is dark enough so as not to stand out.

I decided to add a little bit of borders to give more length and use the last of the maroon in the bag.

SoScrappy Saturday 4.4.2026

Today is the first Saturday of April of the color pink. 

But...I have a little bit of red to finish up.

I did quilt-as-you-go for the Meals-on-Wheels place mats this month. I made four that have more red first...

 and four that have more pink...

What I did: The novelty is  6.5 inch cut square and the logs are 3.5 inch cut to fit. Finished size is about 12.5 x 15.5 inches ~ the size my local Meals-on-Wheels wants the place mats. The meeting is this upcoming Thursday when I turn the place mats in. 😍

My finish today is my Lisa Sutherland's Wobble Sticks and Stars!

First is the flimsy.  One border cut at 5.5 inches...easy and sleezy!

I made the alternate 'wobble stick' blocks for Lisa Sutherland's Wobble Sticks and Stars quilt.

I did piece the center together but lookie...two of the blocks swapped places! It is NOW a design opportunity!
