Design Wall Monday 3.25.2019

I'm working on Mary's Happy Blocks.

I changed the pattern up a bit and started with 6.5 inch cut novelties, two frames cut at 6.5 inches and two frames cut at 10.5 inches. My blocks finish at 10 inches, so a 5 x 7 set will be 50 x 70.

pattern information here.

For this particular quilt, I had quite a few duplicates of the novelties. So I ran them diagonally across the quilt. I like to place the squares to the left on the design wall and place the blocks on the right. This also helps with the orientation of the framing strips.

I've got bunnies on the brain.

*semi* straight line quilting on my Baby Brother domestic machine on my four placemats. Or should I say, *organic* straight line quilting. LOL

Spring has sprung at Bell Creek Quilts!

We've had a few warmer days and our snow is melting....

I have started to pull out my spring/Easter decorations and made myself another bunny wallhanging.

This one is hanging on a little bit of wall in my family room. I found a bunny perler bead pattern and adapted it to a quilt. I cut my blocks at 2 inches so the finished size is 1.5 inches.

Here is my finished bunny.

I can't decide if he's cute or creepy!

lol!

Fun tidbit:

I made this bunny wallhanging in 2004 and the lead bunny is the same paisley print! and I still have a bit more of the paisley...lol. Guess, it's still has a little bit to age for the right project to come along!

I'm still making stars for the QOV FB Working Stars group. I have 8 done in my panel challenge and 4 more, so my total this challenge will be 12 to donate.

Starflower.Star pattern found here.

As I was quilting the QOV FB Working Stars current panel challenge, I ran the backing fabric just a little too close for comfort! Not to mention, my batting was also 'just enough', ok! maybe like 6 inches extra!

Phew!

I also have another QOV panel challenge I need to get moving on. This one is part of the Oconomowoc Quilters Guild. I keep waffling on a pattern! I just really need to pick one and proceed. Unfortunately the panel is an odd size-so some adjustments will need to be made!

WIP Wednesday 3.13.2019

When Wednesday rolls around, my thoughts turn to bindings. *smile, wink*

One binding being attached to a quilt.

One binding ready to go once the quilt is quilted.

...the next panel challenge for the FB QOV Working Stars group. Our block drive for this quarter is the Starflower 12 inch finished block from Quilter's Cache-found here. I like to use the block drive in my panel quilt challenge. I like to combine my work for the FB QOV Stars group!

Whoop! Whoop! 3.8.2019

I picked up another Comfort Quilt bag at guild. This time it was full of pinks and heart tumblers and a few other *happy* fabrics.

Now it's a flimsy!

I need to trim and baste the outer edges so the sewing doesn't pull apart when quilting, load, make a back, quilt and bind...

Continuing to make progress on my BOM: Iris Sacar's Slice of Surprise.

This is the block for month 3.

Unfortunately, my one fabric was a bit short so I was one blade short of a full Dresden. Luckily, I had more of each fabric. That is not always the case as I am trying to work with stash...

The blades are always soooo cute when sewing into the points, I think!

I did it!

Bound it!

and finished it!

and I used my new Binding Baby! She's pretty slick. I just need to find another spindle for her to rest on as I used my thread spindle for her maiden voyage. I probably could have gotten away with ordering the medium size but...I didn't want it too small.
