Whoop! Whoop! 6.1.2018
Amazing...
another week has passed. My days seem to fly by...
I dove into my stash of 6.5 inch cut novelty squares. Sometimes I have a lot of repeats of a pattern so I like to arrange them in a diagonal set. This time I focused on mainly boyish prints (but a few ice cream cones snuck in!). I chose grey as the backgrounds in an effort to use the stash.
pattern info: tilted squares using the method from Sharyn Craig
pants info: Square Spiral

Out of the Woodwork...
What would draw me out of the woodwork, you ask?
Well, it’s time to link up with Sarah at Confessions of a Fabric Addict and her H2H quilt drive. Here is a little quilt I made to donate, not sure which one of the sponsored charities I will send it to yet. I have until June 1st to make a decision!
Pattern credit: Mary’s Quick Strippie.
Quilting panto: Square Spiral.

Whoop! Whoop! 8.4.2017
I have a few finishes to share today.
My leader with the Oconomowoc Quilters Guild Comfort Quilts has put out the memo, "Please bind the Jefferson Foster Kids Comfort Quilts by machine." Wow! Does this speed up the finishing of the quilts!
First up is the Green/Blue quilt.
Quilt stats:
pattern: rail fence - public domain
(3.5 inch strips that are strip pieced and submit into 6.5 inch squares)
panto: continous baptist fans
approximate size (before quilting): 55 x 72
destination: Oconomowoc Quilters Guild/ Jefferson County Foster Care Kids
Second up is the Hanging Diamonds Quilt.
Quilt Stats:
pattern: Stripe Tube Ruler by Daniela Stout
(2.5 inch strips red-tan-dark blue strip pieced and 'tubed' with powder blue. Tube cut according to size on strip tube ruler chart, found here)
panto: happy times
approximate quilt size: 58 x 76
destination: Oconomowoc Quilters Guild/ Jefferson County Foster Care Kids

Design Wall Monday 7.31.2017
Well...I thought I would take my green and blue 3.5 inch strips and make something fun and easy.
Two color rail fence was the first pattern that came to mind
and well--
It didn't really work as I envisioned.
(sad face)
I am continuing on as I am sure someone will fall in love with it and adore it for all it's
un-unified-ness! (is that a word?!)

Whoop! Whoop! 7.28.2017
I have a finish to share with you!
The brown/cream strip tube ruler quilt is done!
Quilt stats:
pattern: Simplicity
panto: popcorn
size (before quilting): 57 x 76
destination: Oconomowoc Quilt Guild/Jefferson County Foster Care kids
Here is the red/tan/blue strip tube ruler quilt in progress.
I really wanted to set it in the off center barn raising, but when I started to sew it together - well, the seams were definitely NOT matching up! bummer, right?!
So I settled on what I have named - Hanging Diamonds. I staggered the rows for added interest. I'm sure this has a proper name but I just sorta put the blocks on the design wall and the quilt formed itself with very little input from me!
(smiley face)

I was also able to quilt it down today.
