Finished to a flimsy yesterday afternoon.
Quilting will begin later today and binding on Friday.

July UFO
My Design Wall is empty but I did finish the binding on my July UFO.
I'm not sure what I named this quilt before but today it is *Froggy Rails*
I increased the size of the backing fabric with the tie dye swirls. I notice that I tend to *grab* what is on the cutting tale that is leftover from other quilts. :) Guess that is part of the reason the cutting table gets piled high with leftover fabrics! lol.
This is another quilt using the Bubbles panto as I am learning the flow and rhythm of it. I found mine here.
EDIT: On 9-11-12 I sent this quilt to Margaret's Hope Chest. I am going to link up with Katie at Swim, Bike, Quilt for her 100 Quilts for Kids Quilt Drive.

An August Finish
I finished the binding on the Rocking Horse preemie quilt the other day.
The bubbles panto. I found mine here.
I also sewed back the binding on one of the pro bono string quilts for the Oconomowoc Quilt Guild. I'm waiting on a call back from one of the other ladies that volunteered to sew the bindings back and I dropped off two other quilts to a binding *angel* yesterday. :)
The popcorn quilting. I found mine here.
Today I am linking up with Sarah at Confessions of a Fabric Addict.

WIP Wednesday
Because THIS happened last night on the way home from DD's hockey class...
...I have been waiting all day for Flo to call and come figure out the damages so that the minivan can be taken in for repairs.
find Flo here.
I had originally planned on quilting Olivia but when I am running the long arm~I can't hear the phone ring.
So I sewed the bindings onto the front of two of the string quilts.
Then I started to sew back the binding on the Rocking Horse baby quilt.

I Started an ORTS Jar
Quilter Kathy has a fun post here about ORTS Jars.
Since I was planning on pro bono quilting for the Oconomowoc Quilt Guild and DD's terrarium passed~I decided to clean and use it as an ORTS jar. Kinda fun, don'tcha think?
ps. Her terrarium passed as she never raises her shades to let in the sunlight~yes she likes the cave thing happening...she's 13~ 'nuff said. :)

a small Whoop! Whoop!
While I really haven't been motivated to sew or quilt much, I did dig through my box of UFO's.
I found two of these rocking horse blocks plus enough border fabric to cut three more blocks~well, it looked like border fabric to me! So I paired it with some dots and w.o.w. connector blocks and ta-da!
a 36 x 36 flimsy that will be donated to the NICU in a local hospital.

Thank You!
In any language, Thank You to all who visited Lily Pad Quilting and voted for Simba in the *Other* Pet on Quilts Parade. Simba didn't win the parade but we still feel he is a cuddly winner here at Bell Creek Quilts! :)

Pets on Quilts Parade
Lily Pad Quilting is hosting Pets on Quilts Parade and today is the last day to enter!
DD and I spread out her Simba's quilt and took a few glamour shots. :)
Simba will be entered in the *other* category since he is NOT a cat or a dog but a guinea pig!
Another category is Quilts With Animal motifs. DD reminded me that I had made a *Jeremiah* quilt a few years back and maybe I could include that one, too. After all, *Jeremiah Was a Bullfrog*!

Design Wall Monday
So Okay...I've been sewing...a little.
I got out my Olivia panel that I purchased last fall and started to make it bigger. I'm using the Sidelights pattern as inspiration. Now~I'm stuck. I think I need a border of white followed by a border with red, white and black.
The problem~no more fabric with red, white and black. :( Black with white polka dots~yes.
Black, white and grey circles~yes.
Guess I'll be heading to the fabric store in the future~right?!

On Hiatus
I'm taking a little blogging break~maybe for the month of August. photo credit here
With the Wisconsin State Fair, The Upper Midwest Machine Quilting Show, The Olympics, one and possibly two weekends caring for my Mom plus a family vacation thrown into the mix...I don't see a lot of sewing/quilting time happening. I just thought that I would give all my blog readers the *heads up* that the posts will appear sporadically in August.
I did manage to get my July UFO loaded onto the frame though. :)
