My nephew and his wife had their second baby about 2 weeks ago. I was a little surprised as I thought the baby was due closer to October but...I guess, babies arrive when they arrive!
So...I dug into my box of novelties, as is my tradition for newborns, and stated piecing this quilt. I love to use the Warm Wishes pattern. The rails are the same fabric on either side of a different fabric. Blue was my chosen color as the baby is a HE! I think I did either pink or purple for his older sister.
Here are all the pieces ready to be sewn together.
pattern info: Warm Wishes
I made a few adjustments over the years:
1. I add (usually) more blocks to create a bigger quilt
2. I use all 2.5 inch strips for my rails...
its just easier cutting for me. :)

Work in Progress...
First comes the Frankin' Batting. I'm all out of my batting tape so zig zag - ing the batting for this quilt.
Second comes the quilting. Large scribbles panto, of course!
Third comes the binding.
I'm really liking my binding baby. She was a little pricey but actually worth it! In my opinion...

Design Wall Monday 9.23.2019
I finished assembling my next set of blocks. I'm not loving it because it has many thick seams, nonmatching seams, it's almost ALL biased...my list goes on and on...LOL.
I did add a little border top/bottom to make it a little longer.
2.5 inch black-2.5 inch bright-2.5 inch black
size: approximately 44 x 64

Happy National Jelly Roll Day 9.21.2019
I dug into my 'stash' and found a few bright 2.5 inch strips from Strip Poker night at guild. I 'found' a little yardage of black and I was sewing!
Before lunch, I managed to sew a few of the blocks.
After lunch, I finished the blocks with the 'brights' I have.
I'm feeling the green and yellow are 'going rogue' on me!

Design Wall Monday 9.16.2019
I am making progress in the sewing room.
Slow and steady as a turtle...lol
I added top/bottom borders to make this little quilt top from Sally longer.
It now measure almost 55 x 75 before quilting.
pattern info:
borders from Lisa Sutherland's Drop in Star pattern
I also pulled my red/white leaders/enders out and started to lay them out. Looks like I need to make a few more blocks to fill in the blanks...
I forget exactly where I saw this layout on the web.
Does any know? please leave a comment for credit where credit is due. :)

Design Wall Monday 9.9.2019
My friend, Sally gifted me two of her UFO's when she was cleaning/organizing her sewing space.
Baggie 1 had about 90% of the blocks made and all the parts to make more blocks.
patten info: Buckeye Beauty
Baggie 2 had this completed top.
pattern info: unknown as it was just this top and no information included.
Anyone know?
Now to add borders to get the quilts a little larger for donation.

WIP Wednesday 9.04.2019
I also made a few split star blocks for my FB QOV Working Stars group. This is the second block for the current block drive.
Here is the center arrangement with 16 stars.
It was suppose to measure 48.5 inches but it was a little bigger so I added extra unit onto the top/bottom stripe border. I think it looks ok.
pattern info: Lisa Sutherland's Drop in Star free pattern.
I just used my split star blocks in place of the HST star.
