WIP Thursday
Yesterday I made a stack of 4 patches.
This morning I finished sewing them into the Butterfly 4 Patch flimsy.
Since I had so many butterflies with the blue background, I decided to alternate my rows of butterflies. I even had to sub in some ladybugs for 'good luck'!
Thanks to my friend, LindaJ who found this information in the symbolism of butterflies!

A Finish and a New Plan
Finished the last few stitches in the binding of the green floral Bento Box.
Quilted with Popcorn from Willow Leaf Studio.
I backed it with Butterfly yardage that I had gotten for another project but didn't work out there. Although with this quilt, it looks very spring-y!
The start of my newest project. A girl quilt built around the color fuchsia~which I needed to buy today~but it was on sale! I'm going to pair it with golden yellow and butterflies leftovers from various other projects...including the quilt back I just finished! :)

Saturday Check In
I've been sewing on my current projects but haven't been blogging about it!
I finished the hand work on Simply Strippy~pattern by Bonnie Hunter.
It still needs a label, photojournal and pillowcase but the quilt is finished!
And because I mis-calculated on the backing~I used a few of the leftover strips from the front to increase the back.
I also finished sewing all the blocks on my 2 color Bento Box~pattern by Tracey Brookshire. I decided that I did indeed like the traditional set in this colorway.
Hopefully I will be able to find a backing in the closet that I like...but that will wait until another day. :)

Design Wall Monday
I thought I would try a 2 fabric Bento Box as it was pointed out that I just seem to make scrappy quilts, a.lot.!
Traditional set of Bento Boxes.
'Ring' set of Bento Boxes. Since I liked this quilt so much. :)
Which set do you like? I already *know* which one I like!

Stampin Up! Class
Sunday night, DD and I went to a Stampin Up! class.
We made a few cards that are girl-y.
My cupcake tower card looks a little wonky! But it was getting late and us girls were getting tired. :)
We also made two boyish cards.
We had stamped at my friend, Maureen's house last week and DD and I were looking for a few accessories that our demonstrator didn't have! Like a stamp-a-ma-jig and that 4 x 14 rotatory cutting ruler! Thanks Maureen for letting us use your Stampin Up! stash ~ DD thinks that you are a way better teacher/demonstrator! :)

Bear Creek Quilt Show 2010
One of the highlights of my trip to Dallas was that DD and I were able to attend the Bear Creek Quilt Guild Show 2010. It was a wonderful show with many beautiful quilts! A special 'Thank You' to my friends, Maureen (craft blog and travel blog) and Alan for allowing us to stay at their home! It was a special time. :)

Vacation Shopping
Here is the fabric I brought. The monkey on the left is flannel for DD and for her American Girl doll clothes. The middle is for QOV and the right is an Andover Dimple. I was hoping to find more Dimples on clearance at one particular quilt shop in the DFW Metroplex but unfortunately for me, this was the last of it.
Here is what we brought at the Bear Creek Quilt Show. One book I was searching for~yea!, a bag (or sack) pattern, a purple thing and two patterns for American Girl doll clothes.
Pretty restrained shopping, eh?!
My mantra to DD all week long was, "If you buy it then you carry it home!"
We both we very careful in what we brought...lol! :)

Design Wall Monday
I started the blocks for my Rainy Day Wall Hanging using the boot fabric on the right. I think that I will only need 9 of the 10 blocks that I made. Which one to leave out?!
