I worked more on the Single Scoop Ice Cream quilt. Truth be told...I did follow the paper piece pattern for the cone and side angles. Then I switched to traditional piecing for the remaining 7 scoops !
I added an inner white border.
I wanted to add an outer border of the diamond fabric but I didn't have enough. It's a pretty old print so buying more is not an option. :(
I settled on a partial border with the strawberry pink print. Maybe not the best, but I am sorta liking it. This is as far as this one is going, into the suitcase for the trip to the Great Wisconsin Quilt Show!

But as sometimes happens, it morphed into a similar yet different quilt.

That ice cream quilt pattern is adorable, Pat! I had some photorealistic fabric printed with ice cream scoops in my stash for years that would have been perfect for the alternate blocks, but I don't remember seeing it when I unpacked from my move. Anyway, your quilt is just delightful.
Your cones are cute as can be, and I like how you used the leftover diamond print in the corners. The star quilt will be a fun project, too. How perfect that you already had the centers made!

Oh I can totally see making that with traditional piecing! It is so sweet!! Your stars are looking spiffy too. What did you think of the WI quilt show? I didn't go this year.
