Whoop! Whoop! on Wednesday 11.27.2019

Well, I finished the brick quilt and it was chosen as a gift for a member of the guild's Christmas family (a grandpa!). Perfect. Only I didn't take a picture with the binding on. Trust me, it has the binding...lol

pattern: brick wall found here.

panto: large scribbles (I really out to change this panto out)

I like it, sorta, not real sure that I'll make another. There are other patterns that I like better...

Design Wall Monday 11.25.2019

So, my friend and table mate at retreat made this quilt from donated fabric.

It is based on this quilt, tutorial found here.

I was aware that the Ocon Quilt Guild has way more girly quilts that boyish quilts. So I dug into my browns and cut for the brick wall quilt.

Here is my version...

Always a rebel...I wanted my streak to go the other way!

Design Wall Monday 11.18.2019

I decided to dig into my 2.5 inch red and blue strips. To jazz it up, I thought I would make the Jelly Roll Race 2 using red/white/blue little squares.

Good plan, right?

I followed MSQC tutorial.

I kept track of my beginning and end-to make life easier.

Somehow, my little squares are mostly clumped together?

I don't get it.

I'm having a comprehension issue...

Maybe I need to give this pattern another whirl?!

WIP Wednesday 11.13.2019

I finished piecing the next 'spare parts' flimsy!

It's a little on the WILD side...even for me. LOL

I'm also happy to report that NOW I can close the lid to my blue 'spare parts'! Yay!

pattern credit: I've had this itty bitty photo of 'spare parts' on the sewing room wall FOREVER!

Design Wall Monday 11.11.2019

More crumbs!

This is as far as I got today before calling it quits so I could attend my guild board meeting. Over the weekend, I made a few cream colored crumb blocks and a few reds to balance the design. I was surprised at the number of blues I need to make to complete this design!

Today I made more blue crumb blocks!

I then had the bright idea to dump my blue leftover fabric bin and sort out the pieces I won't use. I have changed the leftovers that I keep and which work best for me. The pieces I won't use will go into pillowcases to be given to the local animal shelter for beds...

I finished piecing the last two projects that I started at retreat last weekend!

The yellow crumb flimsy.

The red/blue crumb flimsy.

Retreat Review Part Two...11.7.2019

At retreat, we also had two optional sewing activities.

The first one was a Quilt-as-you-go mug rug from June Tailor. Some how I ended up with the one with the flying geese! Not exactly my specialty but I stuck it out!

The second project was a grocery bag. I had a little trouble with this but fortunately my table mate was working on her second one and helped me through my first one!

Edit: I found a link for this bag!

https://www.shabbyfabrics.com/Assets/Downloads/ReusableGroceryBag_forDownload.pdf

(you'll need to copy and paste into your browsers then head to YouTube/Shabby Fabrics to find the tutorial and directions :/ )

I aslo was able to set my 'Falling Crumbs' into a flimsy.

pattern inspiration: MSQC Falling Charms

I aslo pulled the stack of yellow crumbs from retreat and started sewing those.

Now back to the sewing room...
