This morning, I did one of the hardest 'things' I have done. I cut into the t-shirts that my son had given to me. Of course, I cut the first one wrong! The shirts belong to my son's friend/co-worker whose son (age 25) was murdered in Bay City, Michigan in March 2025. It was a case of wrong person in the wrong place at the wrong time. Very Tragic. Kane had moved back to mid-Michigan to try to turn over a new leaf and his life was cut short. I thought I would receive a lot of t-shirts but Kane didn't own very much...There were also 2 100% cotton shirts that I am going to use in the front of the quilt.

Good on you for taking on this job, such a sad story of Kanes life cut short. I have made several memory tea shirt quilts after people had passed away. The saddest was when my granddaughter's boyfriend drowned on a fishing expedition and the pair were just going to announce their engagement. I had enough clothing to make an extra quilt for Geoffrey's mum as well. You will no dought get upset while stitching away on this quilt, but they do bring such a lot of comfort to the recipient. Presumably this is going to Kane's parents.
That is going to be a beautiful memento for Kane's life.
