Finish or NOT Friday 11.6.2026

Well, friends...it's been a spell. I really haven't done much sewing or unpacking since retreat two weeks ago. I DID try to clean the fusible off my iron and set off the smoke alarm twice! That's enough to keep me out of the sewing room...a smoking hot iron in NOT a good way.

Fast forward to Wednesday, I went to the Sewing and Quilting Expo set up day to get my badge and parking pass. No badge this year but I did get a parking pass and a bag of blocks from the Sewing for a Cause booth. Seems like the blocks were made at the Cinci show but not put together.

Notice anything missing? Blocks - check, extra fabric - check, direction or maybe a picture of the finished quilt - missing! Fourth and long...so I punted. Did I mention that I was told it would be nice if you returned the quilt tomorrow (Thursday)? Quilted and bound, too? I'm like - 'for real-sy' ?

Challenge accepted.

This is the inner portion of the quilt.

At 9:30 pm I fired up the long arm after a 3 week rest. Yes, my favorite serpentine panto to the rescue.

At midnight it was quilted and trimmed. After I slept, I got up and bound the quilt Thursday morning. I also forgot to get a picture. I went to deliver the quilt and was told I couldn't go into the show. Lynn was given six wristbands a day, I was number 6 and I didn't know if she had more workers. yikes! Lynn came out and took the quilt back for me. I did get into the show on Thursday eventually...so all's well that ends well. Someone pinned a sleeve to it and it is now hanging by the Sewing for a Cause booth at the Novi (Michigan) Show. I'm not sure where this quilt will travel next but it's history is documented here! <grin>
