Ready to Quilt

I finished piecing the Mock Trip Around the World.  Now it is ready for quilting!

pattern source here.

Mock Trip Around the World Blocks Completed

The blocks are completed and...

...on the design wall.  The great thing about this pattern is that every block is the same!  You only have to twist and turn to form the pattern.  sweet. easy. cool.

WIP Wednesday

The nightmare, errr,  saga continues.

I finished piecing the blocks together and now the mystery is a flimsy!  yea!  I think this needs a border or two to try and tame the bias' that are all pulled out of formation...right now it is mesuring 46 x 69...

and I am still NOT seeing stars....     :(

My next project will be squares and rectangles!!!!

Design Wall Monday...

...on Tuesday.

I trimmed up the 92 flying geese units that belong to the Lake Country Mystery.  The mystery is the quilt~ One, Two, Buckle My Shoe by Pam See of Vanilla Latte` Quilts.

This quilt has the makings of becoming a nightmare for me!  It has many sewing elements that I tend to avoid when quilt making such as half square triangles (pretending to be flying geese) and pieced setting triangles for the on point setting.  *GASP*!  I half kiddingly said that I am going to look for a stripe to use as binding so that I can make bias binding!  If I had only thunk to paper piece *something* in it~then this top would have *checked off* a lot of my quilting bucket list....see side bar!  :)

Here are the blocks, ready to be sewn into rows...suppose to be stars but all I *see* are x's in black boxes....uggghhhh....saga to be continued...

The Baby Card

Along with the quilts (Sashed Animals (A) and (B)), I wanted to send baby cards.

A Crumb Quilt

Jo over at Jo's Country Junction is hosting a Crumb Round Up.  She asked to see the Crumb Quilt that was made during her Crumb Along or any other crumb quilt that you made.  Well~I didn't participate in her Crumb Along but I have been making Crumb quilts to give at my family Christmas Gift Exchange.

Two Christmas' ago, DD *stole* this green crumb quilt I had made and given as a gift.

Why?  who knows?

But now I dig it out sometime after Valentine's Day and use it to decorate the half wall leading down to the basement for St. Patrick's Day.

For more Crumb quilt inspirations, hop on over to Jo's Crumb Round Up.
