We took the motor home about an hour north on Sunday to meet up with our son. It was a fun lunch time activity.
My family reunion is the weekend following July 4th. It looks like all my siblings will be gathered at our summer picnic but assorted children and grands will be missing. We are trying a summer picnic instead of a Christmas gathering as winter travel is getting harder for my oldest brother and sister. I usually give a red, white and blue quilt at Christmas time so this year I thought it would be fun to make a Christmas quilt for the summer picnic! LOL
Here are my fabric picks. When I was in Milwaukee, we went to a JoAnn's there looking for a particular Christmas print. That store had very little Christmas and I felt like I had to buy something Christmas-y. I ended up with avocados dressed in winter gear. It is whimsical. I am going to make Fabric Cafe's Pretty Please pattern, found here. It's a free download right now...so grab it while you can!
Here are the blocks on my design wall. I'm just winging it with more blocks to make it closer to throw/twin size.
Sharing today with Judy at Design Wall Monday.

The avocados with their Santa hats are hilarious! I bet your quilts are very popular with the family. That's going to be a fun one!
I hope the 'gathering' is a wonderful time! The quilt for the event is superb!
