DD asked if I would make a baby quilt for her college roommate. The baby shower is this Saturday, November 1st! and could it be the size I make for the Christmas parties?! uh...
Those quilts are about 60 x 80. That's a little large for a baby quilt but I would make one that is 55 x 72. It's just a tad smaller but still a good size for tummy time. The Mom-to-be favorite color is yellow and yellow is considered gender neutral...that is what DD wants. She also suggested black as an accent and nothing 'baby-ish'.
DD drives a hard bargain. LOL
She chose the Indian hatchet block with various shades of yellow as the main blocks and yup!, black as the triangles. I found this one on Pinterest:
I did go to the store as my yellows were depleted from RSC. This is my starting point. I did decide to cut the yellows at 6.5 inches and the black at 2.5 inches.
Here are a few of the blocks on the design wall.

That will make a delightful baby quilt. Great choices of yellows.
Isn't that pretty?! I love all the yellows. Sounds like it will be perfect for this mom-to-be!
You've been given very clear instructions for this one!
What a cheerful quilt!
This will be a very fun project--I look forward to seeing your progress on it!
The quilt looks like bow tie blocks too. The Indian Hatchet block is a good choice and the colors she selected are beautiful. Good job!
