Design Wall Monday 5.26.2025

Today we remember and honor all who joined our military service and paid the ultimate price of US freedom by giving their lives. I'm taking time to be grateful to those men and women in all military service.

I have started a red, white (tan, in this one) and blue quilt. I picked the Tranquility quilt from Fabric Cafe's Make It Modern book.

I made the parts...some wrong. So I picked a few seams apart and re-sewed them.

I started to put the blocks on the wall and realized my mistake! My focus fabric is directional and some blocks are turned upside down...oops.

This has now been banished to 'project prison' to be pulled out at a future date.

Part 2: I gathered more red, white (tan) and blue fabric and this time I am using the Sew Quick pattern by Fabric Cafe.

It is a quick one!

I too like those Fabric Cafe patterns. I also like that they offer free pdf downloads of some of their older patterns. Hope you can fix the first one -- time out sounds right for it. And the second one works well with those fabrics.

Fabric Cafe has awesome patterns. I like both of your versions! Hope that first one doesn't stay in Project Prison for long.

I like the first one anyway--you can read it from no matter where you with the quilt! lol

I don't think the directionality of the print would matter in the first design because quilts go all directions when they're in use! That's a great print for a QOV, and I love the tan with it, too.
