The *Goods*

I scored at the Milwaukee Admirals Equipment/Garage Sale!

While $500 for a game worn jersey was a bit too much for me to spend, I did find some youth t*shirts that I can chop up for a quilt. Three were $5.00/each and two were $4.00/each. I also purchased a Chris Mason bobblehead for 5 bucks to round out my collection.

Poor DD, the game worn jersey she wanted was sold as well as the white helmet as well as the signed nameplate. :( I offered for her to pick the lunch spot but as we drove into the parking lot, there was a sign in the window stating that it had gone out of business. We then went to Target where she was looking for a particular thing for her Ipod~you guess it, sold out. We then went to WalMart*~and also sold out :( poor DD...she missed school today and had a terrible outing.... :(

Here's crossing our fingers that our skating lesson goes okay tonight :)

It can only get better, right?!

WIP Wednesday...

...on Thursday!

I finished pinning the backing for the MSU T*shirt quilt this morning. No quilting today as we are headed downtown for the Milwaukee Admirals' Equipment/Garage Sale. I'm hoping to score a few inexpensive t*shirts that will be turned into another quilt.

Wish me luck! :)

June 1, 2010 View

The day dawned foggy here but burned off by 10:00 am, leaving a beautiful sunny day!

See how pretty the day is! well...was as it is dark now :)

I baked banana bread for the Car Wash Bake Sale Fundraiser on Sunday. DD, DH and a few of her classmates are going to Washington DC on June 11th, so they are trying to raise some money to help off set the costs.

I also spent a fair amount of time trying to finalize the tour for this wonderful House. Thanks to Senator Herb Kohl and his office staff for making this tour happen! Knock on wood, that the White House doesn't cancel them out at the last minute!

Finally, the only sewing I did today was *sewing the safety net* onto the frame of DD's birthday gift that arrived today~a day late :)

Thanks to DS and his GF for assembling the trampoline! :)

*Beans in a Jar*

Why do I have jars of dried beans by Valerie's table?

To keep the MSU T*shirt quilt from falling off the table, of course!

This quilt has outgrown all my available space in the sewing room and surrounding rooms. I tried to lay a portion of it on the longarm table to pin the borders on and hence the *beans in a jar* quilt weight (as opposed to paperweight :))

Here is the MSU T*shirt quilt.

87 x 108.

Not sure when I will quilt it as now I need more backing to *go with* what I currently have. Guess that means a trip to the Quilt Store...drat...I've been trying to stay away this year because the temptation is always so great in there! :)

T Shirt Quilt~Shadows Added

I don't know if you can tell from this picture but I've added the shadow portion to the framed t*shirt blocks. It is quickly outgrowing the available space on the design flannel. :)

Next step is to add the sashing between the blocks to make columns.

Design Wall Monday

Lookie~lookie!

I can play along with JudyL as I have *something* on my design flannel.

I framed out the set of Michigan State University T-shirts. I fused most of these shirts about 3.5 years ago and I did find two more shirts that needed to be fused today to add to the collection. I have two duplicate shirts but it looks like I might just have enough for this quilt. :)
