September 1st View
Here is the September 1st view from the slider door to the backyard. I almost forgot to take the picture and the sun is starting to set. :)
Update #1:
Here are DH and DS painting the green portion of the wall today.
Update #2: JudyL's Wonky Labor Day Challenge
I was able to piece the inner portion of the quilt and started piecing the piano keys outer border. Thanks for the advice on the inner border, JudyS. and Linda, you were so right. The black was too harsh against the colors in this quilt. I guess I'm not as orange-a-phobic as I thought as I un-earth about a yard of this darker orange to serve as the inner border. I discovered that my stash is seriously lacking in the darker shades!

Love all your quilts! Beautiful!
Oh, I like how your quilt is coming along! Are you feeling any more comfortable with the wonkiness? Tell me it gets better....
Great solution, Linda! I love the quilt and your wonderful looking porch. That photo made me homesick for Wisconsin....fall there is such a nice time of year.
Now that really zings with that bright orange border and then out out to the piano key colors of the frames. Some child is gonna love this one!
How are you coping with the paint fumes around the house? I know Kevin is going to like the new colors much better but are y'all getting a headache or anything by now?
Love your first of the month photo. Would your son like to come and paint my bedroom?
You really have an awesome back deck, Pat, and I love seeing how things change from one month to the next. How did your son wind up with a pink room? :)) Good stretch for you with the Labor Day Challenge, and you sure did a great job. The piano key border is really great for alot of things.
