I decided to work on another 'quick' quilt for the local Hop-Tel. The Hop-Tel here is adjacent to the VA Hospital and it is for veterans receiving treatment on consecutive days that are too healthy to be admitted yet live too far away to travel home and back in a short time span. And yes, it's a free space for the veterans and their families to spend the night. A few years ago, a woman in my day guild started promoting the Hop-Tel as a recipient of quilts. So...this year I am trying to make one quilt a month to donate to the Hop-Tel. As I understand it, the quilt then belongs to the veteran to take home. This is not affiliated with Quilts of Valor and I'm not sure that there is any connections at all.
I thought I would cut 3.5 inch strips and make red/blue and a cream I had into pinwheels. I also had just gotten a new 12.5 inch ruler.

Yep, read the ruler wrong, pieces don't match up and had some trimming to do. I discovered the error of my ways about 2/3rds into the block making process.
Here is an early block, trimming it up.
The cream fabric is a graduation of gold stars, not real sure that I'm grooving to it...
Just a few more rows and I'll have a flimsy. I'll keep you posted.
