WIP Wednesday 3.26.2025

I added more borders to my Flag Fireworks panel. The fabric I chose, somehow looked good (to me) on the design wall but now? I'm second guessing my decisions...I did say (to myself), 'Well...that took a goofy turn...'

Here she is all quilted with the serpentine panto. I'm on the fence if I should bind it in red or the blue?

Any bets?!

Thanks to the limited piecing above, I pulled out another QOV panel that I found lurking in the sewing room. I think my panels are like scraps...they multiply when I leave the room :)

I was searching the web trying to figure out a block to use with this panel and I remembered Quilt Jubilee by Lisa Sutherland's Free Patterns. I decided to try Thick Sticks as it uses 3.5 inch cut fabric. Did I share that I volunteered to make quilts using 3.5 inch cut Chips, Strips and Bricks and do a trunk show? So this would fall into that category. :)

Here is my fabric draw. My thanks to the quilter that donated the cream fabric last week at guild. I just love the free tables!

Here are a few of the Thick Sticks blocks made up. I'm kinda surprised the the brown and navy look very similiar from afar...

You really cruised through the top quilt! Great job! (blue binding! lol) The bottom top is really sharp-I like all of the 'bars' around the panel!

I think that is a beautiful quilt! You do amazing things with panels, Pat. No wonder they like to live in your sewing room!

Wow you are making fast progress on these QOV quilts. I especially love how you incorporated Thick Sticks blocks on the new one. Very cool. Thanks for sharing on my weekly show and tell, Wednesday Wait Loss.

I like the slash/insert around the panel -- I think your disquiet is because of the red border that reads as pink (is it a check?) and what looks like flowers in the outer border. But the recipient will not be critical. Meanwhile, the next panel design with the thick sticks (a tongue twister!) is great!
