I had enough hst's and zebra print to make another quilt for Project Linus. As I was searching for hst quilt patterns, I found the Walk-a-bout pattern (on Pinterest, of course!). The hst's made an 8.5 inch unfinished block so I cut the zebra print to match.
Since this 'Walk-a-bout' pattern went together so quickly, I pulled out my RWB and the Lisa Sutherland 'Old Glory for Dean' pattern to start piecing. This quilt is to be posted on Saturday July 4th on the Working Stars FB page.
Oh no! I made a critical error! I made my stars reversed. Blue on a light background instead of light on a blue background! This makes me sad. DH wanted to know if I 'was swearing when I realized this'? No...its time to pivot and make another quilt top. I just won't be able to participate in the 'Old Glory for Dean' parade...

I love those stars - blue on neutral or the other way around. Maybe your design won't be quite the same, but it will still be beautiful. Keep going, Pat!
The stars are beautiful, so they will still make a gorgeous quilt - just different than the original plan. The Walkabout in black and white is awesome.
I made the same mistake when working on Alycia's last QAL! Sorry. You will be able to make a different one!
I'd vote for originality -- so your stars are dark. They will still look good in that design. I might change the bright white for beige. It would be an awesome quilt and unique.

The blue stars on white background are lovely, and will make a nice quilt - wherever you use them. My mistakes sometimes turn into great finishes elsewhere, and yours will too. Happy 4th of July!
