SoScrappy Saturday 4.19.2025

Today is the third Saturday of April of the color red.

I was playing around with making fish (not on point) and before I knew it, I had a little school of red and teal fish! I'm thinking about making more and sharing a finished quilt at guild's Beach Day Party in July...maybe...

pattern: a combination of various tutorials found on Pinterest.

Update:

I pieced the Beth Dutton into a flimsy but wouldn't you know it? My background greys are from two different dye lots. 'I hate it when that happens!'

Sharing today with SoScrappy Saturday.

The red and teal fish make an awesome combination. I can't see the different greys in your quilt. Will you leave it as is?

Those fish are fun, Pat! Are you going to make them in a rainbow of colors? Like Sara said - I can't see the different grays in your Beth Dutton quilt either. Maybe it will be okay!

What a great bunch of swimmers! And I can tell you a tale about the Beth Dutton quilt.....

Those fish blocks are such fun--I love the colors together! The Beth Dutton quilt is a classic--good job. (color variation works for you, I think)

Those fish are cute. That speckled blue background is perfect. I can't tell any difference in the gray background, either. Is it possible the mottled look hides the color variation?

I like your combo of teal and red fish!!! I, too, can't tell that there's 2 different backgrounds on the Beth Dutton quilt. Now, Nann sure has me interested in her tale on the Beth Dutton quilt!!!

I love those little fish, but they need lots more colourful friends to swim with.

Those fish blocks are SEW cute, Pat! Quilting is likely to make the two grays in the Beth Dutton less noticeable. Although, I can barely distinguish a difference in the photo.

I really like your fish block. I’ve scouted Pinterest & can’t seem to zero in on that type of square fish. Could you share an abbreviated tutorial? Pretty please 🤓?

Those fish blocks are so cute. What a great block! I too can't see the difference in the greys. Love that header!

Your fish blocks are fun. I don't see the difference in the greys either. Maybe it will be less visible after it's quilted? It happened to me recently too, I needed more Moda Marbles grey, and there's a difference between the two.
