Today is the fourth Saturday of April of the color red.
It is also time to reveal my Table Scraps April challenge. The prompt is rain. Red and rain. Uh-oh, I'm in trouble because all month long I am stuck on red umbrellas...
I finally gave in and made a little mat for my hearth room planter turned into a side table. First I found an umbrella to applique on Pinterest. Thank you to Simple Mom Project. I had some rain type fabric in my closet, black with fusible on it and a red fat quarter. I'm ready!
Snip, snip. Iron, iron. Diagonally quilting on Baby and ta-da!
My newest umbrella mat on the design wall.
Now, the mat is out in the wild. 😍 I squared it up to 8.5 inches and it's a little big for the space. I need to remember to make the next mat smaller! LOL

Snip, snip. Iron, iron... Ta-da!, indeed. It's SEW incredible that you had just the right (as) rain background fabric, Pat! Enjoy your new table mat, Pat. Thanks for joining in the TABLE SCRAPS Challenge fun!
That is cute, Pat! You definitely found the perfect background fabric for the umbrella. And the perfect spot to use it, too!
Very cute! Good use of the planter for a side table. It looks really good, especially with the little quilt on it.
Great job with the prompt. My brain went to an umbrella as well.
I do like your umbrella blocks! Nice job!
The color and prompt had a lot of us scratching our heads. Nice solution.
Your umbrella hot pad is adorable. Nice work!
There's rain and there's red so you nailed it. And it's a cutie to top it off. Well done. ;^)
