SAHRR : Round 1. 1.22.2026

The first round for the Stay At Home Round Robin was released on Wednesday. Brenda of Songbird Designs is hosting the first round. She picked hourglass as the block. She linked to Missouri Star Quilts tutorial on how to make hourglass blocks using 4 patches here. I followed the tutorial except that I started with 4 inch cut squares and trimmed my hourglass blocks to 4.5 inches square.

Why?

Because I turned my hourglass blocks into Ohio Stars!

pattern: Ohio Stars, public domain.

Those turned out nicely! I like the fabric you used for the center square, too. I've been working on hourglass blocks today, but not quite ready to share!

Love your Ohio Stars! The fabrics are really pretty - I zoomed in to see those patriotic centers. :)

Ohio Stars is one of my favorites...because I am from Ohio? Love that bright red. And I LOVE that you are making your RR in rows! Very clever!

I also love the idea of a row quilt, and these Ohio Stars will be a great addition to your Barn Star row. Are you doing all stars in this quilt? It will be fun to watch it take shape!
